About
Philipp Walter is a nature-based solutions and nature finance specialist working at the intersection of ecological restoration, public-sector implementation, and investment. He serves as Lead Author of CRS’s Nature-Based Solutions in Cities: State of the Field and Pathways to Systemic Investment report, leading the cross-regional synthesis on governance, financing, and investment readiness across the Americas.
Previously, Philipp led ICLEI Europe’s Biodiversity and Nature-based Solutions team, managing a multidisciplinary team and a large portfolio of international projects focused on urban nature, biodiversity, restoration, and financing mechanisms. Earlier, as a State Forester with the Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources, he helped develop Hawai‘i’s first state forest carbon project pathways and worked on forest restoration, ecosystem services, and climate policy.
Through EcoCapitalOne, Philipp focuses on mobilizing capital for high-integrity nature-based solutions and translating ecological and climate priorities into scalable, financeable implementation models.
